Hello,

I'm a flash developer and recently I had a request to do a digital magazine for iPad.
I'm not looking for anything like Woodwing (woodwing.com), but instead I want full control on what I'm doing.
I searched the web for a while and came around to Corona. The code seems simple for someone with a flash background, and the forum seems positively active.
The only problem is that manly what I see are games or small apps. I haven't saw any magazine like app.
Are there any? Did anyone ever done something like that?

I don't think there has ever been a magazine app developed with Corona, actually I am 90% sure of it.

Can it be done, well I'd say yes it can. However with the current system that would involve a lot of work, since you can't natively use iOS/Android functions that aren't built into Corona. Stuff like PDF reader, or other format readers, would need to be created. The UI stuff would need to be created (and as it stands UI stuff on Corona is rather a difficult feat).

So really it depends how much time and energy you are willing to put forward. Of course your Flash background would work well, and if you are capable of researching and talking a bit to do this, then you can easily accomplish it.

If your magazine app needs video's, that's something that isn't working well yet - you don't have control over how they are displayed. I'm waiting on this too.

Check www.kwiksher.com its very nice tools for corona. you can build interactive book or magazine with Photoshop only and then build your app with CoronaSDK.

I had very good experince with Kwik and its simple and include advanced features.
