It is indeed interesting to see that Android is an untapped market and growing everyday. The Android Smartphones are not really smart, but really good phones. However as a developer, I tried the Android store, even tried the Amazon store, but I did not like the way they worked, however here is an article I found that is articulated quite well, hope that can give you some insight.
