Changing referencepoint of body as well as object

I see this note against YScale when using referencepoint against an object and I have also read some entries in forum

Note: When a Display Object is converted into a physics object, scaling the Display Object will change the physical size but NOT affect the physics view of he object. This could result in unpredictable results when interacting with other physics bodies.

So is it right that you can't really use YScale, height etc in a transition if you don't want your body referencepoint to be center?

The issue I have at the moment is I want the transition to happen from the top and scale from this fixed point. At the moment its scaling from the middle so moving the joint.

Is there a work around?
