In-App Purchase for Android

We're submitting our iOS app to Apple on Monday. It uses the great in-app purchase stuff that you guys provided for us. We're really excited to use it.

As we think about also making our app available for Android users, we keep getting stuck on what to do.

I know the in-app purchase "landscape" for Android is a bit messy, and that Google just announced support for it last month I think, but what are your plans for supporting it?

We're not sure what to do. Do we change our pricing model for Android (i.e. ad supported) or not release on Android? Other options?

Thanks,

Paul

The next release is all about monetization and we are going to be looking into adding either google checkout or paypal.

It is in the feature pile and we will have an answer on this shortly.

I am kinda in this position as well right now. My iOS game uses IAP for revenue, but for the Android version I've decided to release a 'Lite' and 'Full' version. It just means I have to do a bit of work creating different 'versions' of the game with some things locked off etc, but technically in a different way to IAP locked content.

I wonder what the cultural decisions would be by an Android user if faced with an In App Purchase prompt - considering that they probably have not experienced that before. Might scare them off somewhat..

How far along are we on this? It's also going to affect our business model and it'd be great to have some sort of timeframe.

Thanks in advance

Any timeframe yet? It seems to have been in the works for a while, can we please get a status update?

I second that request for a status update. Android in-app purchases are absolutely critical, more than any other feature from a business point of view. Let us know what is going on with this please.

Long time since last Carlos reply to this.
We really need a solution to monetization for Android fast...

Well dont worry, im sure Ansca is in the middle of integrating some monetization API for us. They will tell us when the time is right as a surprise.

If you want to know what API it is, you could decode generated Android APK by Corona from daily build. I must say, i am excited to use "that" API ;)
