Phew a busy couple of weeks, got the company formed, finished 2 client local applications and wanted to crank out the 99 Bottles game.

Really, this game is a tribute to Ansca and the entire corona community. Thanks everyone who have shared tips, tricks, example code and all the things that make this a great platform to work with!

I wanted to show what you could do with a few hours in the evenings (I have a day job!) especially given a jump start with some of the example code you will find the Corona site.

My game is an extension of the Samarai Fruit example, Can there ever be enough slashing games? I doubt it!

I feel very successful (pending Apple approval of course, LOL) in accomplishing these goals with the game:

  • Be realistic - something that one guy could accomplish in a reasonable time
  • Create my own assets - every game asset in this game was doodled by me using sketchpad pro on an iPad2 with just my finger. Too fun!
  • Interface with Facebook API - I hadn't done that until now. In this game, depending on your score you can brag about it on your wall and get a funny little award and saying to taunt your friends
  • Get approved by Apple - we shall see
  • Have some fun in between all the other projects I work on, this one is just for me.

What is funner to break than glass? So it hit me, taking from the "99 Bottles of beer on the wall" song and mashing that in with Samarai Fruit and you get what I am calling "99 Bottles"

It's simple, break 99 blue bottles before breaking 1 red one.

This game will be free and contain no ads, ever.

Read all about it and see demo video here: 99 Bottles

Thanks for reading, now on to the next game/app...

I cannot see the difference between this and the samurai fruit example. I am sorry....
