I am discussing with a non-software company who needs to make a simple app. They will own the copyright of the software after it is down.

I think they have to register a new apple IOS developer prgram for $99, and here's the question:

Do they have to buy a copy of Corona as they need to upload the app to apple store?

No. You just build it with your account and send them the build.

Just make sure you build using their certificate/provisioning profile - otherwise they wont be able to upload it to their account as it will be signed wrong ;)
