WHich android version and machine to test on

Hi,

we are in the stages of testing out our app on android, but not sure what models to test against given some of the stability concerns and issues reported in the forums here?

our apps would ideally be used on a 7" + android tablet with 2.2 and above (checked the list)

which device / brand should we test it against? Since android 2.2 + comes with so many hardware devices and options, what is the recommended way of testing the app?

can anyone please assist us in testing our apk on a specific machine ? are there any other ways via software emulation that we can do this?

thanks

It must be at least armv7 and 2.2 minimum.

Cheers! :)

For the mid-size tablet the original Samsung Galaxy Tab (600x1024).

For low end phone, an original Droid is a good target.

For high end phone, take your pick (note that the Samsung Galaxy S apparently has significant perf issues with physics unless that's been fixed lately in Corona)

If you want to save money and you just need these for testing on wi-fi, pick up a "bad esn" phone from eBay or Craigslist. It won't work as a phone (wireless) but as long as it's in good condition then everything else should work. I got my Droid off eBay for $50.

For tablet testing I'd grab one of the mainstream ones like the XOOM or ASUS EEE Transformer. I have an Acer Iconia Tab A500 and it's been fine for development.

What i did was create a demo version of my game, and then join #android over on freenode. A bit of patience and asking nicely I managed to test it on about 10 different devices.

I would be happy to test on my Nook Color for you. I believe I just read that Corona is one of a few SDKs endorsed by BN.
