Extensions fail to install

I've downloaded the 30 trail and the extension as per the video tutorial, however when attempting to install the extension
LoqheartLayoutExport.mxp
and
LoqheartSWFExport.mxp

I get "extension cant be installed it requires FLASH 9 or greater" But I'm using Flash CS5 which is certainly later.

ANY help??

Are you running an English version of Flash and does the extension manager match that? Can you post a screenshot of the error?

Do you have another version of flash installed?

Do any other 3rd party plugins work? Can you try installing another plugin like MassSwap http://spiralstormgames.com/blog/code-snippets/quick-flash-extension-swap-multiple-elements-at-once/?

Can you look into your

~/Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/Flash\ CS5/en_US/Configuration/Commands/

directory to see if the plugins are there? Adjust the 'en_US' directory appropriately for your locale.

You can also try reinstalling the extension manager as well. http://www.adobe.com/exchange/em_download/em50_download.html

Here is the screenshot

Yes it is an English version:

I do not have another version of flash installed, I do have adobe flash builder 4 however installed.

I attempted to locate the path you mentioned
"~/Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/Flash\ CS5/en_US/Configuration/Commands/"

but couldn't locate it, I was looking in the program(x86)/adobe folder ? is that where it should be?

The directory I listed was for the Mac. Googling the path for windows it should be something like:

“C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAMEHERE\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Flash CS5\en\Configuration\Commands”.

Btw, did you try installing MassSwap? If installing that does work, try following the instructions here:

http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/162/tn_16202.html
Maybe try redownloading the extensions?

Another option to consider is to reinstall your flash extension manager. http://www.adobe.com/exchange/em_download/em50_download.html

Hi mklein,

Another user was having strange issues as well, and opening the Extension Manager from Flash worked for them.

Try closing your extension manager, opening Flash, then go to Help -> Manage Extensions.

Then click the Install button in upper left to manually install the extensions.

I just tried installing the extensions on Windows and they install fine. So I'm guessing there's something wrong with your setup somehow.

Let me know if you can install MassSwap though because I don't see any other extensions installed from your screenshot. And that would give us another bit of data.

Don thanks for the reply,

I cant install the MassSwap EXT either,

I tried opening extension manager from within flash cs5 however the install button is grayed out...

I also re-installed ext manager but no change.

I'm at a loss here.

Another note:

I was able to install the Adobe Air for Android extension a few weeks back, but now it appears I cant install any extensions.

I also tried to delete the CS5 flash configuration folder as indicated in another forum.

NO Luck there either

Hmm, ok we need to gather more info, if we want to automatically install the extensions by double clicking. That would be ideal.

But if you're itching to use Spriteloq and want to solve the Extension Manager puzzle later, we can install manually.

Can you find that installation directory for the extension? If you email me at support@loqheart.com I can send you the jsfl files so you copy them to the Configuration/Commands folder.

email snet Don,

Thank you
