iOS Development Question

Hi,
I've been developing using Corona and i don't even have a smartphone, i've been testing on my friends Android.

I'm considering buying a iPhone 3GS so i can test on both iOS/Android. (I need a new phone anyway)

My question is; Will i need a jailbroken iPhone in order to test my game on my iPhone?

Wikipedia:
"At its core, jailbreaking an Apple iOS device gives access to its root filesystem, allowing modification and installing third-party software components."

As i need to enable third-party software on my friends Android to test.

Could be a stupid question but worth asking for the ~£250 down payment i might be making.

with corona you do not need to jailbreak your device.

just get an apple certificate and android certificate and you should be able to install apps to test on your device.

there is no workaround on the apple/android certificate. you cannot circumvent that.

.c

An Apple/Android certificate, how do i get these?

I can already test on android so i assume i have this already.

Would the Apple certificate already be mine aswell since i own a Mac with Corona SDK installed and have the option of building to iOS?

Thanks in advance.

I'd get an iPad, this way you can test for your iPhone and your iPod/iPhone apps.
