Schmutz for iPad, my first Corona game!

Schmutz for iPad, a physics puzzle with a dirty twist, is now available in the iPad App Store. This is the first game I've made with Corona, and I'm thrilled at how fun the process was.

There's an update in review to change the main character (stars) to cuter characters, but the gameplay is set.

It's free, so download it, rate it, and leave a nice comment! :)

Ugh. Schmutz is dying on the App Store. Very disheartening!
Any feedback?

emf715, i'll give you some ideas/feedback when i catch u on irc.

Hey emf715.

I would probably say it's the graphics. They seem to mean as much to customers as the gameplay these days.

The good old days of good gameplay ruling and graphics coming second appear to be gone :(

Thanks. Alas, I suck at graphics. Oh well. Hopefully, version 1.1 will win over some users.

As do I. The only option for people like us is to outsource your graphics work. It's costly thats the only downside.

Hello Evan.

A nice, little idea.
But, i really don't the icon, why a yellow star??

And why no points/highscores?
Is it not better, to harm more "Schmutz"??

One info: in level seven, i got stuck two times, because the "ball" get stucked by jumping on the same spot...

Hi Sidasa,

Thanks for trying out Schmutz.

As for the icon, I will be changing it in version 2.0. In the very first version of the game, the main game objects were stars, hence the terribad icon.

As to score/points, I went back and forth on that. If anything, I may implement a system that rewards you for completing a level by eliminating the fewest amount of Schmutz.

Yes, if you don't leave some Schmutz to bounce off of in Level 7, and if you don't angle yourself with enough horizontal momentum, it will be a hard level to complete.

I wonder what happens if you eliminate ALL the Schmutz in a level...

I'm hijacking my own thread.

My games are normally free. However, now until March 25, I will be charging $0.99 for many of my titles. All of the proceeds (the 70% I get from Apple) will be donated to the Red Cross.

Hello Even,

I think your app is unique it is that it gets to hard at first and you should add multi-touch.
