Why are the backgrounds so small in emulator?

I've tried creating my own backgrounds in a few demos of my own, and loading several other examples files within the Nexus one or the Droid emu but the backgrounds are just over 1/4 as large as they should be..

Does anyone know the parameter or switch I need to flip to get them to display right?
(iphone emu works fine btw)

Nevermind, I just figured it out. lol, the emu doesn't have upscaling -
